Nick Power

Nick Power has been a DJ on the radio and club circuit for several years after starting out from Music Power Records, the London based chain of record shops, which he founded back in 1982. He then went on to become a part of Kiss fm in London as a presenter, which opened doors worldwide for his career as a full time DJ. After Kiss came Pulse fm, then Touch fm, and finally the Record Bag has rested with House Fm.

As well as playing music, Nick Power went on to produce and release his own records on the Drum & Bass circuit around 1990, and had several Underground Hits under different pseudonyms.

In 1995, Nick Power made a move of going to a practically unheard of village on the Island of Cyprus, and opened his own club. This village was called Ayia Napa, and the club, The Kool Club. Nick Power’s Kool Club was the only club on the island that played true underground House & Dance Music, and he took the island by storm with his own style of DJ’ing, It was what Nick Power started back in those days that made all the other clubs wake up and improve on what they had, and since then it has brought Ayia Napa to the forefront of most popular holiday destinations for young people. It has been called the Clubbing Capital of Europe, and Nick Power was named as “The Godfather of Ayia Napa”, by DJ Spoonie of the Dream Team on BBC Television, and as “The Legend that started it all”, in several holiday company brochures for the resort. Nick Power has also been interviewed a number of times, and appeared in several documentaries outlining his achievements throughout his career and time in Ayia Napa.

Nick Power is still very active on the club circuit, and has played in several of the best clubs all over the world, and alongside some of the biggest & best DJ’s in the world.
