Founding member of Soulfunk Digital, one half of Spiritual Movement & has a number of new projects lined up for 2007. known to have a broad approach to music in his Dj sets & productions, the only boundary he has as a Dj and producer is to be within house music, He loves the freedom to adapt to the vibe and atmosphere of a crowd & venue. With a demanding DJ schedule holding residencies at Soulfunk Digital, CWM & The Scene and regular bookings playing throughout the UK and abroad. Always embracing new technology and ways to take things further, Darren's sets include 3 CDJs & often uses Ableton Live. Always expect the unexpected. 2007 will see Darren touring the SFD label to all corners of Europe.
The Soulfunk Digital label was launched in 2005, and is firmly established on a global level. 2006 has seen a number of tracks licensed to compilations such as Bargrooves, Universal Music, Warner Musics On The Beach, Atari and FHM. Darren has also been very busy in the studio over the past six months. As one half of Spiritual Movement and producing his own material he has a respectable reputation with his productions and remixes, Recent projects have included Fernan Dust "U Dont Wanna Stop" Spiritual Movement Remix (Soulfunk Digital) "The Level Of Love" (Real House Records) "Platform" (CWM) Stereo Mutants "Mumas & Brothers" Spiritual Movement Remix (Soulfunk Digital) Currently busy working on more remixes, and his new track "Ocolours" is released in June
Brian Tappert is one half of the world-renowned remix team "Jazz-N-Groove Productions" and co-owner of the critically acclaimed record label Soulfuric Recordings. He also records under the monikers of "Urban Blues Project", and "Cleptomaniacs", as well as remixing for everyone from Loleatta Holloway to Arnold Jarvis to Sounds of Blackness. Originally from NJ, Brian started DJing back in 1984, finding his love for soulful sounds through Tony Humphries radio show on 98.7 Kiss FM. As the late 80's exploded with the fresh new sounds of House Music, his passion grew to an obsession and he's never looked back.
Making his way into production gradually in the early 90's, Brian fused his DJ experiences with his love for soulfully crafted songs and melody with the result being Jazz-N-Groove Productions. With a consistent output of quality tracks, Jazz-N-Groove quickly established itself with cuts like Northbound "Better Way", Mone "We Can Make it", and Native Rhythm "Ya Hey" on pioneering labels such as Suburban, Bassline, Strictly Rhythm, and AM: PM. As a producer, Brian's collaborations with partner Marc Pomeroy under the "Urban Blues Project" moniker have become some of the most celebrated soulful house classics known to man with records like Michael Procter's "Deliver Me", Donna Allen "He is the Joy" and most recently "We are One" featuring Bobby Pruitt being prime examples. Also an accomplished engineer and programmer, Brian's studio talents are highlighted by meticulous attention to detail and arrangement. Walking the fine line of commercial accessibility and credibility, his productions shine with powerful yet soulful styling.
In 1998 the "Cleptomaniacs" were born. What began as a simple collaboration with long time friend John "Julius" Knight, quickly evolved into something much more... with now classic tracks such as "Numero Uno", "Let's Get Down", "All I Do" and "Give it Up", The Cleptomaniacs have produced and remixed many dance floor favorites. Their trend setting ability to rework a classic into a modern day floor filler is second to none. Nowadays, Brian and John involve Marc on many of their productions and mixes.
You can catch Brian Djing in some of the worlds most exclusive venues with regular guest appearances at clubs such as Ministry of Sound - London, Pacha - Ibiza, D-Club - Switzerland, Bed - Sheffield, Mach 1 - Germany and many more. Fusing the old with the new, Brian's strength lies in his programming ability, proving time and time again there's more to Djing than mixing records. Over the years, Brian has developed from a local club jock to a World Class master of the art of working a crowd. His performance behind the wheels of steel has to be experienced in the club to get a true sense of the magic that is delivered. Brian's other skills are no less impressive in the studio. Whether he is masterfully and methodically creating drum programs, arranging, producing or remixing, he is the living definition of the word perfectionist.

As an established DJ with several years behind the decks, Adam Unsworth had always wanted to move into production. Graham Lord at this stage was already producing his own music. They crossed paths at legendary club Out In The Sticks during 2000 and almost immediately Manchester gave birth to the Audiowhores.
When you learn that their musical influences include, amongst others, Dave Lee, Knee Deep, Masters At Work, Full Intention and a certain Jazz'n'Groove, it's really no great surprise that these two talented guys have knocked out some fanatastic productions and remixes over the last few years.
Following their superb remixes of John "Julius" Knight's "Find A Friend" and Jazz Transit's "Steppin' Out" 2003 saw The Audiowhores debut release for Soulfuric Deep. "After The Party" featured the vocals of Blu and proved one of the biggest dance-floor hits of the year. As 2004 rolls in this is to be followed by the eclectic, afro influenced "Nekoosa" which hits the shops in February.
Their career to date also includes releases for The Pound Boys' Denver based Look At You Records as well as Mousse T's highly influential Peppermint Jam label. Indeed they have further recordings lined up for both these labels as well as Graham's solo work as Word of Mouth.
Not content just producing and remixing for some of the industry's finest labels, Adam and Graham have stretched themselves further with a demanding, but rewarding DJ schedule. This has seen them play a variety of venues across Europe and the USA. Within the UK they have played at many of the best known clubs including Out In The Sticks, Angel Deelite, Cookie Dough, L'America, Blend and Traffik. Worldwide their recent schedule has included gigs in Switzerland, Holland, Austria and New York, and this only scratches the surface. Amazing though it might seem, on top of all their DJing and production commitments the guys still find time to provide unswerving support to those other Manchester high flyers with regular visits to Old Trafford

House Music, DJ. Purple Flyer.
Franck has multiplied the releases on labels
as restigious and well respected on the international
scene as Kenlou (Kenny Dope and Louie Vega /USA)
Versatile (Dj Gilb'r / France), Crash (Dino & Terry /
Canada), Flowers (Japan), Needs (Germany), BBE
(UK), Straight Up and BRS.... Without a doubt Franck
is the Dj / producer the most 'in view' since the
beginning of the year. Influenced by artists such as
Stevie Wonder, Vince Montana, Mongo Santamaria
and Blaze, Franck has developed a quality soulful
house sound.
By producing his first single, the straight up label
(Playing For the City) opened the doors for their
young prot駩, to the Parisian deep house scene
Since then Franck has worked closely with quality
musicians such as Olivier M'selem (who has also
collaborated on productions with shades of soul, sun
orchestra and Frank Beyong) and the multi talented
singer, Chris Wonder, with whom he produces the
majority of his songs.
With strong support from abroad (Little Louie Vega,
Frankie Feliciano, Dj Spinna, Ron Trent , Osunlade,
Francois K, Sole Channel, Jon Cutler ) and in France
(Dj Deep, Playlin' For The City, Dj Gregory ) Franck
can prepare his future productions by exploring
different horizons open to him and by collaborating
with contemporary artists.

New Release, UPZ Present AFRIKAWO-MAN.
The original mix is filled with afro-influenced drums, South African style afro-high life guitar and a wikked call and response sax & organ solo's. The UPZ remix toughens the mix for the dancefloor, with a straight 4/4 house beat with driving hi-hats and funky guitar. The African Marimba and cuica adds a nu flava to the mix and is intertwined with stabbing strings. Danny Clark strips down all the original elements and re-arranges the track for a more peak time audience. Euan Mitchell (Soultonic) provides another twist with a superb reworking of this class track.
New Release, 'GOOD TIMES EP' From the 4Tune Twins.
After their recent superb remixes on Seamus Haji's Soul Love imprint and Full Intentions "Your Day Is Coming" the 4Tune Twins bring us this dope 3 track EP. Fantastic Move and Let The Good Times Roll both feature a spoken word, combined with rhythmic percussion, infectious keys and seriously funky basslines. Feels So Good is a deeper, more sultry track with soulful sax riffs and an uplifting female vocal
"FEEL IT IN YOUR SOUL" PART 2, From Andy Holder.
Due to the massive success of the original mixes we have decided to give you another dose of "Feel It In Your Soul" courtesy of Andy Holder. He comes up trumps with a deeper approach and extremely useful tools for the more adventurous dj's.
Next Release, The Stereo Mutants "Muma's & Brothers"
released 9th Augast 2006 ( Promos avalable NOW at Traxsource )
The Stereo Mutants have certainly been busy in their studio of late and have come up trumps with this slammin' funky work out. Their trademark drum patterns get the groove going accompanied with lush rhodes funky guitars & a bouncy bassline. The catchy vocals come courtesy of Litl'n. The dub mix goes deeper filtering the vocals and chunking up the bassline, perfect for late night hysteria. Danny Clark takes things down a different route using minimal vocal snippets and adding a massive organ solo and warm brass. The spiritual movement mix (Danny Clark & Darren Flecta) adds another twist with smooth jazzy keys, but keeping the essence of the original mix whilst adding extra guitar solo's and flutes. All in all this package has something for everyone. Christian Alvarez "Love the jazzy vibe-really feeling this" Ralf Gum "Nice package-very positive feeling the organ dub and the spiritual Movement Mix" Richard Earnshaw "Keep em coming like this" Noir "Quality production all round-love the original dub & the Spritual Movement mix is class" Central Avenue "Great release-good arrangement with nice keys & bass" Joan Ribas "This track is great"
Out Now! Eric Dillard " U R The 1" The Andy Holder Remixes.
Erik Dillard provides the vocals for this exquisite, emotional gem. Andy Holder takes charge of remix duties. Combining groovy basslines, crisp beats and seriously hot keys. The Dub Mix throws in some tasty sax lines, whilst keeping all the slickness of the club mix. This is gaining heavyweight support from the dj community and expect to be grooving to this all summer
Out Now! " Feel it In Your Soul"
This is bursting with soulful elements. This powerful groove see's some superb rhodes keys, an infectious bassline, horns, guitars and a sexy sax solo to deliver a feel good factor.
'City Lite' Soul Basics. Out Now! Avalable from all leading stores. This cool summer groove has been signed to the Warner Compilation "On The Beach" 'Mixed by 7th District' & 'Lorenzo Al Dino' The compilation was released on 11th May 06.
"Back to London " The track is best described as a deep journey into the sound of music!
The original mix from Sam Lyons with its smooth synthetic rhythms and rich warm character truly signifies the essence of deep soulful house music and is definitely a classic late night groove.
Mean while shaking things on the flip, Soulfunks very own Danny Clarke steps up to the plate with a remix that is definitely going to be the main player.
Taking the characteristics of the original,
Clarke's soulful mix adds a burst of energy with his classic chunk live style beats and arrangement to give this more dance floor appeal & in addition to original some slick guitar & flute solos. Very Nice! (Review by Andy Holder)
After the recent success of our debut track "Honesty"
Soulfunk_Digital are pleased to announce the release of our
second track "Yesterdays Been & Gone".
This is an uplifting, powerful piece of soulful house, performed by Leon J Brown.
Released 20th February 2006

Essex Dancer. from dancers....
Essex promoter Darren has taken the brand global. With releases world wide and club nights in Tokyo.
Music is his way of life... He has been active in the world of production for thirteen years, and is now - still - only 28 years old. He completed formal training with a music degree from the University of London; where the freedom of expression he found in jazz, funk and soul beckoned to him to leave behind the manuscript and metronome...
In 1998, Earnshaw and friend Mark Horwood teamed up with Piers Penfold to create The Fusion Groove Orchestra. Richard will tell you that the collaborative efforts inherent in the Fusion's work - with output like 'The Dream' featuring Simon Green; their remix of Lynden David Hall's 'Forgive Me'; and Boris D'Lugosch featuring Roissin Murphy's 'Never Enough' - is what helped mould and shape his own soulful vibe.
With gumption entitled a young and talented producer, Earnshaw soon sought an audience with a team who had long provided inspiration, and sent a show-reel to Soulfuric chiefs Brian Tappert and Marc Pomeroy. Impressed with the remix ability and production skills of the young Englishman, Brian asked Richard to put together something original for the label.
The result? 'People are People' - and the synthesis of the Soulfuric / Earnshaw sound.
Released in May 02 on Soulfuric Deep, 'People Are People' is a rhodes and guitar led melodic diamond. Its dope chords and jazz-swing combined together to become the summer of 2002's full-size favourite on dancefloors from Manchester to Miami, and Melbourne.
Earnshaw's second Soulfuric release, 'Joyride' again blends stellar production, a breezy vocal hook and the signature Richard Rhodes solo. Made to be more peak-time but no less soulful; of creating 'Joyride' he reveals only that "...the title says it all..."
Out of the studio and behind the decks, Earnshaw has been in the mix for about three years -
"... Many years ago, I used to think that it was easy to simply stand there and play other peoples records, but whilst studying at University, it came to my attention that a composer called John Cage said in the 60's that the future of music was in the record player. I realised that there really is an art to performing with these 'instruments'. Like many other instruments, it's a form of expression, and for me, it's a way of performing and expressing my thoughts and my emotions without the use of an entire studio or a dozen session musicians!..."
Ask him about his influences, and he will reel off a million - Bill Evans, Miles Davis, Jean Michel Jarre, Quincy Jones, Beethoven, MAW, Bach, Earth Wind and Fire, Vangelis, Kraftwerk, Depeche Mode etc..etc..etc..etc..
For Richard Earnshaw, music is his passion and his joy, and his way of communicating. For him, "...it is great to think that by creating and performing music, people can forget about the negative things in life and embrace the positives. Even if only for a short time."
Dance music is constantly moving in a new directions meaning there are always new waves of up and coming DJ’s pushing their way through. For the past 9 years Rebekah has been striving to achieve her passion for music both in the UK and on an international level. Her Jackin’, Chicago, Funky, Tech and Tribal house sounds have managed to catch the ear of many a promoter and have helped her achieve a lot of respect from both them and their crowds.
In the three years she has been DJ’ing professionally Rebekah has toured every inch of the globe. Last year alone saw her play at some of the most exclusive parties and rocking clubs that South Africa, Australia, China, South America, Italy, Russia, India and South East Asia has to offer. This was in addition to her UK commitments and finding time to launch her own Record Label Kitch Bitch recordings. KBR will be behind her own releases as well as the best of like-minded producers Rebekah has discovered on her travels across the world.
2004 also saw the biggest achievement of Rebekah’s career to date. Over a million listeners of World famous BBC Radio 1 tuned in to hear Rebekah being interviewed by the notorious Fergie. After he played her funked up tribal mix it was no surprise when Notion magazine (formerly known as Klub Knowledge) approached Serious to do a three page spread on her as one of the UK’s hottest up and coming DJ’s. The press interest didn’t stop there, M8 have their eye on Rebekah and have pinned her down as one of the key breakthrough DJ’s to watch in 2005!
With regular sets both in the UK and abroad for all the big clubbing brands and exclusive fashion parties as well as being a regular on Pete Tongs Usual Suspects its no wonder this tender aged 25 year old is kicking up a storm for the new generation of clubbers.
In The Beginning
Noir was Born 1976 in Aalborg, Denmark and at a very young age he developed an everlasting love for music.
He was only 6-7 years of age when he started rocking around to electronic music like Kraftwerk, Depeche Mode etc.
His interest in music got even bigger when house and techno came around. He was very much into the acid/house wave that hit UK in late 80’s despite his young age. In 1996 dj’ing became a natural path to follow, as his no. 1 passion was music... and especially club music.
Deejaying
He got his first residency in a club called Rendez Vous playing everything from Hip Hop, soul, 70’s funk to House & techno. After 3-4 years of intense dj’ing he narrowed his set down to playing only House.
This brought him another residency and the chance to start up a houseclub “V4” which is now (and has been for the past 4 years) one of the finest and most popular clubs in Denmark.
V4 was nominated “Club of The Year” at The Danish Deejay Awards 2003 and Noir himself was nominated “Upfront Deejay of The Year” at The Danish Deejay Awards 2004.
Noir is now dj’ing all over the world and known for always trying to break new tracks and set the clubs on fire with his energetic dj sets.
Producing
His passion for dj’ing and electronic music has led him to start producing himself.
In 1997 the tradegy of his fathers death led to a inheritance, which made it possible for him to realize his biggest dream; buying the equiptment to begin producing.
He hooked up with musician Palle Kruse Jensen and started from the bottom learning how to make chords and harmony’s.
On the technical side he hooked up with Leif Berg Jensen learning how to do the programming in various music software.
Shortly after “the learning process” Noir got signed to Bim Bam Recordings, where he had a few releases.
First “own-production” release ever was “Pondus – Why Waste Your Time” (2000) and first Noir release was “Shine On” (2001) both with Bim Bam Recordings. In 2002 he left Bim Bam Recordings to concentrate on solo projects and remixes for various Danish artists.
2003
Noir seriously started to focus and concentrate on his dj and producing career.
Worked his way into the house business by making own productions and remixes for various Danish artists.
Same year he made a remix of Paul McCartney & The Wings “Silly Love Songs” and unexpectedly Lifted Music managed to get the remix cleared and approved by Sir Paul McCartney himself and set to be released in 2005.
2004
Noir spend most of the time in the studio and signed up with Lifted Music for various productions–some of them now signed to major labels.
2005
Noir signed yet another deal with Montana Entertainment (Morjac) for exiting releases in the near future and he got his debut on Toolroom Records, Deeplay Music, Ego Music, Warner & Bonnier.
All his hard work in the studio finally seems to be paying of and Noir is ready to take over the world of house.
Aliases
Noir currently produces under the following aliases:
Noir: Various flavours in house, peaktime cross-over productions.
Decaff: Electro, tech cross-over productions.
Black Magik: Tech, minimal and deep house, underground productions.
Premier: Latin flavoured, piano, oldschool inspired productions.
The Soul Flava: Soulful, catchy hooklines, organic productions.
RNK: Cheeky, various flavours, mostly using samples on these productions.
I have been djing professionally for a number of years now around East Anglia starting out in some of the small bars and progressing on to play at some of the regions biggest clubs such as Kartouche in Ipswich (2,000)capacity. Squares in Norwich (1,500) and many others.
I have also been lucky enough to play for some of the regions biggest promotions including Pam’s House, BIG & Essence as well as playing on the Mixmag club tour and Slinky club tour. This has given me the opportunity to DJ with people as diverse as Griff & Jay (Manumission), Judge Jules, Jay Friction (Kinki Malinki), Norman Jay and Slipmatt amongst others. This has been of great benefit to me as I have developed as a DJ by playing a variety of styles and learning from people who have been around on the scene for longer than myself.
This year I have been working throughout southeast England and getting considerably more work out of London. As well as this I have started playing overseas with gigs in Frankfurt (Germany) behind me. and gigs in Greece and Ibiza to look forward to.
Music styles
I have been lucky enough to have been buying vinyl since 1986 so have A collection going back to the early days of house this interest was Fuelled by a friendship at school with a guy who went on to become SW1 one of the leading hardcore DJ’s in Britain. I have always maintained an open mind with music and will play anything from a funky house/US garage set to a trance/hard house set covering styles such as progressive house and nu school breaks on the way. The only rule I have is that if I don't like a style of music I won't play it unlike a number of DJ’s who will play a style they don't believe in purely for the money which reflects in the quality of their djing. Above all if I have good time and get people enjoying themselves then I have done my job.
Ambitions
To eventually become established on the circuit and be playing regularly in the better venues throughout the U.K For me provided a venue has decent sound and up for it clubbers I will enjoy it & I will play pretty much anywhere.
Productions
I have recently started writing and producing my own material in conjunction with another East Anglian dj and am currently in the process of getting some of them licensed.
My forthcoming gig list includes:
Weekly residency Pams House
Fortnigthly Residency The Hub
Monthly Residency Quest
Monthly Residency Grace

Danish DJ/producer Morten Trust is probably most wellknown for his recent succesful production work for American and English houselabels such as Soulfuric, Swing City and Morehouse, which among other things has made it into the top 20 "Hype Of The Year 2004" chart in UK clubbing magazine DJ Mag. But in fact he has been producing and DJing on the Danish and international house scene for more than a decade.
From an early age Morten played in bands and eventually progressed into one of the most respected and talented producers in the global house scene.
Today Morten produces under many different monikers - among others "Generous Flavour", "Funkworks" and "Soulmagic" who enjoys the support of superstar DJs like Roger Sanchez, Brian Tappert, J Jay, Grant Nelson and Copyright to name but a few.
His Soulmagic track "Soulmagic" has not only achieved phenomenal global succes, but also received the award for "Danish clubtrack of the year" in 2003.
This year Morten is nominated twice – best producer and best clubtrack!
Morten is also the man behind the much talked about cover of the Donald Byrd classic “Love Has Come Around” and recent releases include Generous Flavour – “Waiting” on Swing City(UK) and “I Put My Faith In You”on Morehouse Records(US) – a track that made it to No. 1 in the DJ Mag Hypechart (!!!) while his most recent releases Yah Yah and Come On Come On are on the prestigious label Soulfuric(US), where more of Morten Trust’s creations will be released in the future.
But that’s not all! Mr. Trust also produces lounge music under the name Northern Comfort, and his tracks have appeared on many great lounge-albums such as Ministry of Sound Carma Chillout, Barfly Paris and Sun & Nirvana Lounge 2 by french loungemusic guru Claude Challe (Buddha Bar, Paris etc.), with and for whoom Morten has both written, produced and remixed several tracks.
When not producing Morten Trust is busy DJ'ing. He has played in every hot spot in Copenhagen and the rest of Denmark, and round the world in places like El Divino and Pacha, Ibiza, various great housenights in the UK, Toronto Canada - and Morten has also been seen spinning alongside Jay J (Moulton Studios), Jason Heard (Subliminal Soul) and the Groovejunkies (Morehouse) at the Winter Music Conference in Miami, USA.
Every Friday night you can catch Morten in his own 3 hour radio show on P3 – Danish national radio, playing soulful funky housemusic.

he stereo mutants
UK born and bred, The Stereo Mutants are Si Gordon & Piers Kirwan, 2 dj / producers who since the late 80’s have slowly moved up and worked their way into the global house music network.
The ‘Mutants’ have known and worked with each other as dj’s for a good 12 years, both the dj’s careers began doing house parties in and around the South West of England during the late 80’s early 90’s. Piers at the time was playing massive warehouse parties whilst Simon would be spinning at smaller clubs and parties, the pair knew of each other but never really hooked up until late 92 when Simon asked Piers to reside alongside him at the now infamous Natural Rhythm nights. These nights were run by Si and wife Caite and during their 9 year reign the 2 dj’s played alongside such luminaries as Claudio Coccoluto, Alex Neri, Danny Rampling, Smokin Jo, Angel Moraes, Xpress 2, Ricky Montanari, Allister Whitehead, Cj Mackintosh and many more.. Off the back of this success came a string of dates and gigs nationally and internationally, so from 92 to present day the guy’s have built their names slowly and continue to dj as far away as the US, Russia, Turkey, Serbia and all over Europe.
Back in the UK the guy’s were keen to get into the studio and began to tinker with their production skills around 96’. At this time Si & Piers were not producing together, Si was in and out of studios making deeper tech house material for indie UK labels like Deepend, Jaywalk and more. Piers on the other hand was producing his other musical love of drum & bass, occasionally knocking up the odd house track along the way which he has success with also, signing singles off to Smokin Beats UK under his PK guise. Then in late 2001 Simon finally got sick of paying big studio bills for tv/media work he was doing and decided to invest in his own Digiplay recording studios, now the pair would plan the Mutants! Around the same time Simon also launched his record label Play Recordings, a deeper tribal imprint that is now on it’s 18th release with support from the likes of Danny T, Lottie, Vitamin D, Deep Dish, Xpress 2, Dj Disciple, Ralphi Rosario and more.. The label and the studio productions have created a great buzz and won tons of fans worldwide.
In March of 2004 the 2 great friends decided to get to work in the studio together, and the result is a Unique sound, fusing percussive tribal rhythms, Latin Melodies, live bass, vocals and acoustic guitar to create an energetic dancefloor sound. The result of this match made in heaven has gained signings to Joeski’s Maya (NYC) imprint, Defected Records UK, BubbleSoul Records (Spain), Jamayka Blue Records (Chicago), Cassagrande Records (spain), Delecto Records (Canada) and Conya / Clubstar records (Germany) with promising feedback from other corners of the house music elite…. At present the ‘mutants’ are preparing new singles for all the labels above and in between that trying to fit in some remixes along the way… As Dj’s they partner up back to back and create a dancefloor a fusion of deep soulful tuff latin tinged percussive mayhem, it’s house music, it’s a groove…. interest in the dance music scene developed in the late eighties when the whole "acid" evolution broke through. For the next few years Danny spent many hours waiting patiently in service stations around the M25 for the convoy to pass by and lead him to some deserted warehouse or muddy field. became inspired by the atmosphere and unity a DJ could create and how much control and input they had on pleasing and entertaining so many. With this, Danny purchased his first set of 1210's at the tender age of 15 and never looked back. He started off playing to friends at house parties and as his skills and confidence grew so did his hunger for bigger and better things. was a regular clubber at the legendary Oscars on Clacton Pier (once voted as the third best club in the country by Radio 1), where he met and be-friended the resident DJ Force. This is where got his first big break and played warm up sets for the likes of Slipmatt, Grooverider, DJ Seduction and Mickey Finn. The success of these nights led to an influx of other regular bookings around East Anglia.
taste in music gradually changed as he felt he found more from the soulful delights of the US House scene. Inspired by the likes of Todd Terry, Joey Negro and Kiss FM's Paul Trouble Anderson, Danny had finally found his sound and his audience.
moved to Bristol and continued his promising DJ-ing career in the South West, and soon found himself to be a regular on the local club and bar circuit. He decided to start to promote his own nights in a dis-used function room above a pub in the city centre. realised that he was taking a financial risk by putting on a soulful house night in an area that was predominately into Drum & Bass, but the risk payed off. By offering an alternative experience, a massive advertising campaign and of course the DJ talents of the good folk of Bristol were suddenly being turned away at the doors due capacity crowds within a number of weeks. Word of mouth soon spread about the quality of both skills behind the decks and his classy promoting, attracting the attention of a number of local club promoters. was offered numerous bookings at the likes of Lakotta, Cafe Blue, The Porthouse, Oddysey, The Lizard Lounge, Po Na Na and The Thekla playing to crowds of up to 2000, alongside the likes of Danny Rampling, Terry Francis and Norman Jay.
After a couple of years Danny returned to Essex and continued where he left off, gainng a slot on the pirate station Feelings Fm and regular guest apperances on his local pirate station in Essex, Switch FM. Danny's soulful, streamless mixes have also been used on Ministry Radio and have received superb feedback from industry insiders. also has a fortnightly mix broadcast on Dream FM.
With this recognition helped support Miss MoneyPennies and Clockwork Orange tours and meant he played alongside some of his DJ-ing idols. He also regulary plays for the biggest promoters in East Anglia including Pams House, Essence, Big, Cheeky Cheeky, UK Dance and the newly formed Soulfunk alongside the likes of Richard Earnshaw, Boy George, Jeremy Healey, Brandon Block and Lottie. love of music led him to open his own record shop and online sales service in Ipswich and this in turn led him to hook up with another East Anglian DJ who shared the same thoughts, passions and desires. Between them they took all their experience and knowledge as professional DJj's and began to produce their own soulful, funky material . The music being churned out of Danny's newly formed studio is the sort of sound you would expect to hear on the likes of Soulfuric, Defected, Swing City and Refunkt. The first track being produced has generated a great deal of interest from a few major labels, so watch this space!!!!
Danny's aims for the near future is to get more work in and around the Capital, to gain more media exposure both as a DJ and producer, and to help to promote his new residencey Soulfunk. His hard work, enthusiam and talent has now seen him get summer bookings in Tenerife, Ayia Napa, Rhodes, Moscow and at a number of the UK’s leading clubs including Turnmills and MOS.
Danny is a well travelled, vastly experienced DJ who can and will work anywhere, who has played to audiences of up to 2000 and is a master of crowd reaction. He can build sets very subtly and gradually build a vibe for a climax or play powerful peak time sets with equal presicion and ease thus making him a neccesity for any dancefloor!!
Drawing from all his years both as a punter and as a jock, Danny knows that crowd participation is a vital key to ensure that the public get exactly what they are looking for. Feedback is essential to any DJ so you will often spot Danny on the dancefloor before, after and sometimes even during his magicall sets. So with that, his production work, his radio work, his website being re-designed, his two weekly residencies at Flava and Soulfunk and a constant demand from promoters for his talents, it looks as if Danny is carving himself a healthly reputation as an all round pro. This Dj is definitely one to watch for 2005-06.
